FLOORING WARRANTIES
We offer warranties for our Vinyl, Rubber, Corka and Wood Flooring, as set out in the document below:
Vinyl flooring ten (10) years from the date of original purchase for Heavy Domestic use (as defined by EN685 class 23) or Moderate Commercial Use (as defined by EN685 class 31).
Rubber flooring ten (10) years from the date of original purchase for Heavy Domestic use (as defined by EN685 class 23) or Moderate Commercial Use (as defined by EN685 class 31).
Corka click planks fifteen (15) years from the date of original purchase for Heavy Domestic use (as defined by EN685 class 23) or ten (10) years for Commercial Use (as defined by EN685 class 33). 
Corka parquet and square tiles ten (10) years from the date of original purchase for Heavy Domestic use (as defined by EN685 class 23) or five (5) years for Moderate Commercial Use (as defined by EN685 class 31). 
Engineered oak flooring twenty five (25) years from the date of original purchase for Heavy Domestic use (as defined by EN685 class 23), or five (5) years for Moderate Commercial Use (as defined by EN685 class 31).
IMPORTANT: These Warranties are valid only if the relevant Installation and Maintenance instructions on our website (vinyl: InstallationMaintenance. Rubber: InstallationMaintenance. VINYL, RUBBER, CORKA WARRANTY
(Please see bottom of page for Wood Flooring Warranty)
  1. The Colour Flooring Company (hereinafter referred to as ‘we’, ‘our’ or the ‘Company’) takes pride in ensuring all of our products provide the best flooring for your needs. Our manufacturers are committed to using high quality materials and quality control techniques to ensure the reliability and long life of our products.
  2. STRUCTURAL AND WEAR Whenever our products are supplied as new and through approved outlets (please contact us if you would like to check whether an outlet is approved), we warrant that for the applicable period (commencing on the invoice date) indicated below: (i) our flooring products shall be free of manufacturing defects and (ii) their Surface Wear Layer will not wear out. “Surface Wear Layer” is defined as the portion of the floorcovering that contains the decorative colour or pattern. “Will not wear out” is defined as the 100% reduction of the Surface Wear Layer over an area comprising at least 5% of the total surface of flooring installed.
  3. Water Resistant Limited Warranty (Corka click planks). The surface of our Corka click planks is water-resistant assuring that, once laid, the structural integrity of the floor plank will not be significantly diminished by non prolonged exposure to water. While surface moisture will not affect the floor’s integrity, it is probable that, when prolonged and excessive moisture accumulates in buildings or on building materials, mould and/or mildew growth can occur. This Warranty does not cover: (i) Damage to surrounding structure, walls, subfloor, fixtures, furniture, underlayment, moldings, trims, subfloor heating elements, or anything that is not the floor plank; (ii) Damage resulting from mould & mildew growth due to prolonged exposure to water or moisture; (iii) Flooring that is installed outdoors; (iv) flooring in persistently wet and damp areas such as saunas, swimming baths or similar areas. (v) Corka gluedown square tiles and parquet.
  4. WARRANTY COVERAGE In the unlikely event that any of our products fail to perform according to the applicable warranty, we will, at our option, repair or refinish the flooring (repairs will be made using material with the closest colour and pattern match available. We cannot guarantee that material from the same manufacturing batch will be used), or replace such product with the same product or another one of equal value (of our choosing), or refund an appropriate portion (as determined by us) of the purchase price paid (if replacement or repair is not practical or cannot be made on a timely basis), as more specifically described below.
  5. A) During the first five (5) years of this Warranty (i) the defective flooring products will be replaced, (ii) the defective products will be removed and (iii) the replacement products will be installed, AT NO COST TO YOU or, at our option, we will refund the purchase price.
  6. B) After the initial five (5) years period (if applicable), we shall only provide all or part of the flooring products for replacement, according to the lifetime usage table below, or, at our option, we will refund an appropriate portion (as determined by us) of the purchase price.
  7. Warranty coverage:
  8. 0-5 Years: 100% of the flooring products for replacement plus costs of removal and installation
  9.  6-10 Years (if applicable): 100% of the flooring products for replacement (without costs of removal or installation)
  10. 11-15 Years (if applicable): 50% of the flooring products for replacement (without costs of removal or installation)
  11. EXCLUSIONS This Warranty shall NOT apply in any of the following cases:
  12. 5.1 Fair wear and tear
  13. 5.2 Wilful damage, abnormal storage or working conditions, accident, negligence by you or any third party
  14. 5.3 If you fail to operate or use the flooring in accordance with user instructions
  15. 5.4 Improper installation, maintenance or refurbishment and use of unapproved auxiliary products
  16. 5.5 Installation of the flooring in an inappropriate environment
  17. 5.6 Any alteration or repair by you or a third party
  18. 5.7 Any specification provided by you
  19. 5.8 Improper subfloor patch, underlayments, or subfloors.
  20. 5.9 Welding errors
  21. 5.10 Inappropriate product choice for the flooring needs or site conditions
  22. 5.11 Defective adhesive or adhesive application error
  23. 5.12 Negligent or incompetent cleaning
  24. 5.13 Changes in areas exposed to high stress and wear
  25. 5.14 Fading or discolouration due to sunlight or heat
  26. 5.15 Extreme environmental conditions, including exposure to extreme heat, moisture or dryness (including, for cork and Corka flooring, more than 65%, less than 35% R.H).
  27. 5.16 The varnish on our cork and Corka flooring is not considered Surface Wear Layer and is not covered by this Warranty - this protective coating may need periodic replacement as part of a maintenance programme in certain environments.
  28. 5.17 The PU coating on our rubber flooring is not considered Surface Wear Layer and is not covered by this Warranty - this protective coating may need periodic replacement as part of a maintenance programme in certain environments.
  29. 5.18 mechanical damage, burns or chemical contamination;
  30. 5.19. Trivial or insubstantial visual defects, i.e., visual defects not perceptible at 1.5 metres from standing or which are only perceptible in counter light.
  31. 5.20. Office roller chairs must comply with EN 12529 (Type W). Use protective office mats under the rolling chairs.
  32. 5.21. Gaps on cork and Corka floating floors (> 0,20mm EN 14085) existing at the time of installation.
  33. 5.22. High commercial (EN685 Class 34) or industrial (EN685 Class 42) areas will not be covered by this Warranty.
  34. 5.23. Product lines not specifically mentioned in paragraph 1. of this Warranty.
  35. 5.24. Accidents, abuse, misuse, force majeure, damage from heavy furniture or equipment used without sufficient protection, impact damage, hydrostatic pressure, scars from sharp or pointed objects, cuts, tears, scuffs, scratches, misuse, negligence, burns (cigars, candles, etc), water damage, erosion, spiked heel shoe damage, pet claw damage, damage from pebbles, sand or other abrasives.
  36. 5.25. Detectable defects verifiable prior to installation.
  37. 5.26. Difference in shade, pattern or colour. We do not warrant any difference in shade, pattern or colour 1) between samples/photographs and the actual flooring, 2) from batch to batch, or within a single batch 3) due to exposure to sunlight, 4) resulting from replacement of a portion of your floor, 5) resulting from the different age and history of the same product reference/batch.
  38. 5.27 Squeaking in cork and Corka floors. Squeaking can have a variety of causes: variations in relative humidity; subfloor unevenness; underlays or other layers below the flooring etc.
  39. 5.28 Any other damage whatsoever caused by external factors.
  40. VALID CLAIMS This Warranty: 1) Is valid within the UK only from the date of purchase (invoice date). 2) is subject to you notifying the Company of the alleged defect within 30 days of it having come to your attention and in any event no later than before the expiry of the warranty period. 3) is subject to you providing a copy of the original invoice. 4) Applies only to flooring products in their original installation location. 5) This warranty is applicable to products sold to the first end consumer and is not transferable 6) Shall expire if the product or installation location is transferred or re-sold. 7) Applies to flooring used exclusively in interior residential and commercial applications that is submitted to normal traffic, and, in the case of cork flooring, is not used in wet or damp areas such as bathrooms or saunas. 8) This is a limited warranty. Except as provided herein, we make no warranties, express or implied, with respect to the products, including any warranty of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose.
  41. Nothing in this warranty shall limit or exclude our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence.
  42. Other than as expressly provided herein, under no circumstances shall we be liable to the end-user/purchaser of our products or any other third party, whether in contract, tort (including negligence), breach of statutory duty or otherwise, arising out of or in connection with a defect in our flooring for:
  43. any loss of profits, sales, business, services or revenue;
  44. loss or corruption of data, information or software;
  45. loss of business opportunity;
  46. loss of anticipated savings;
  47. loss of goodwill; or
  48. any indirect or consequential loss.
  49. Other than as expressly provided herein, the Company’s total liability in respect of any losses arising out of or in connection with the flooring, whether in contract, tort (including negligence), breach of statutory duty, or otherwise, shall in no circumstances exceed the price paid for the flooring. This Warranty gives you specific rights but does not affect your statutory rights provided by law. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with this warranty shall be governed by and construed in accordance with English law and the Courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction.
  50. IF YOU HAVE A PROBLEM In the unlikely case that you detect a problem with your flooring product, please take the following steps: 6.1. Promptly provide The Colour Flooring Company with written notice of the problem, proof of the purchase date, type of the defective products and amount of flooring involved. Please supply clear close up photographs of the damage and also a wider shot of the entire floor area. We cannot accept claims without clear photographic evidence. Please document your communication and keep the information on file until your problem is resolved. 6.2. We reserve the right to designate a representative to inspect the floor and remove samples for analysis. If such defect is verified, and confirmed by an authorised representative, we will proceed as described in point 4.
WOOD FLOORING WARRANTY
  1. The Colour Flooring Company (hereinafter referred to as ‘we’, ‘our’ or the ‘Company’) takes pride in ensuring all of our products provide the best flooring for your needs. Our manufacturers are committed to using high quality materials and quality control techniques to ensure the reliability and long life of our products.
  2. We offer a warranty for all of our engineered oak flooring, as set out in the document below:
  3. Engineered oak flooring twenty five (25) years for Heavy Domestic use (as defined by EN685 class 23), or five (5) years for Moderate Commercial Use (as defined by EN685 class 31).
  4. IMPORTANT: This Warranty is valid only if the relevant Installation and Maintenance instructions on our website. Engineered Oak FlooringInstallationMaintenance are respected and subject to the conditions below, as well as the terms and conditions set out on our website.   5. STRUCTURAL WARRANTY : Whenever our products are supplied as new and through approved outlets (please contact us if you would like to check whether an outlet is approved), we warrant that for the applicable period (commencing on the invoice date) our engineered oak flooring will be free from structural defects in milling, drying, grading and will not delaminate if following all necessary recommendations on transportation, storage, installation and maintenance as recommended by The Colour Flooring Company website.
  6. WARRANTY COVERAGE In the unlikely event that any of our products fail to perform according to the applicable warranty, we will, at our option, repair or refinish the flooring (repairs will be made using material with the closest colour and pattern match available. We cannot guarantee that material from the same manufacturing batch will be used), or replace such product with the same product or another one of equal value (of our choosing), or refund an appropriate portion (as determined by us) of the purchase price paid (if replacement or repair is not practical or cannot be made on a timely basis), as more specifically described below.

  15. EXCLUSIONS This Warranty shall NOT apply in any of the following cases:

  23. 4.8 Improper subfloor patch, underlayments, or subfloors.
  24. 4.9 Seasonal contractions (the appearance of gaps between flooring planks, “cupping” etc), as well as deformations resulting from natural climatic and atmospheric conditions
  25. 4.10 Inappropriate product choice for the flooring needs or site conditions
  26. 4.11 Defective adhesive or adhesive application error
  27. 4.12 Negligent or incompetent cleaning
  28. 4.13 Changes in areas exposed to high stress and wear
  29. 4.14 Fading or discolouration due to sunlight or heat
  30. 4.15 Extreme environmental conditions, including exposure to extreme heat, moisture or dryness (including more than 65%, less than 40% R.H).
  31. 4.16 The UV oil or lacquer coating on our flooring is not covered by this Warranty - this protective coating may need periodic reapplication as part of a maintenance programme.
  32. 4.17 mechanical damage, burns or chemical contamination;
  33. 4.18. Trivial or insubstantial visual defects, i.e., visual defects not perceptible at 1.5 metres from standing or which are only perceptible in counter light.
  34. 4.19. Office roller chairs must comply with EN 12529 (Type W). Use protective office mats under the rolling chairs.
  35. 4.20. Gaps in flooring existing at the time of installation.
  36. 4.21. High commercial (EN685 Class 34) or industrial (EN685 Class 42) areas will not be covered by this Warranty.
  37. 4.22. Product lines not specifically mentioned in paragraph 1. of this Warranty.
  38. 4.23. Accidents, abuse, misuse, force majeure, damage from heavy furniture or equipment used without sufficient protection, impact damage, hydrostatic pressure, scars from sharp or pointed objects, cuts, tears, scuffs, scratches, misuse, negligence, burns (cigars, candles, etc), water damage, erosion, spiked heel shoe damage, pet claw damage, damage from pebbles, sand or other abrasives.

  41. 4.26 Squeaking. Squeaking can have a variety of causes: variations in relative humidity; subfloor unevenness; underlays or other layers below the flooring etc.
  42. 4.27 Structural defects natural in the wood where the finish cracks, contains voids, or colour variation that appears on the surface of a knot, check, split, hole or similar naturally occurring wood character in the grade.
  43. 4.28 Damage caused by negligence, water, wet-mopping or excess moisture, erosion, sand, other abrasives, insects.
  44. 4.29 Insufficient prevention and/or protection in kitchen workstations and underneath furniture.
  45. 4.30 Damage resulting from the shifting of the building
  46. 4.31 Minor cupping, crowning, face distortions, etc. are considered normal and are not covered under this warranty. Raising or lowering your humidity level towards the middle of the warrantied range will resolve this issue.
  47. 4.32 Product quality variation that does not exceed 5% is industry standard and is excluded from the warranty.  
  48. 4.33 For this warranty to apply totally worn areas must extend over 15% or more of the entire floor area. Any attempt to repair, replace or refinish the floor prior to the manufacturer‘s inspection and authorized repair actions will void this Warranty. The sole remedy provided herein is the repair, refinish or replacement of defective flooring.
  49. 4.34 Any other damage whatsoever caused by external factors.
  50.
