WHY WE LIKE IT
Easy to fit - Click system for fast laying on any flat surface
Tough and waterproof - Finished with a durable matt-laquered coating for easy cleaning. This gorgeous white is great for kitchens
Camada White is one of our most popular colours, perhaps because white cork tiles lend a sense of modernity to any space. The lightest coloured cork in our range, it comes finished with a pale wash designed to enhance rather than disguise the natural beauty of the cork itself. And because of its subtly varied block patterning, it’s a practical choice: it doesn’t show up dirt like some white floors can. Colour Flooring owner Lena put it down in her kitchen and even with three young boys and a dog running about the place, it still looks as good as new. Close
Climate positive - Corka actually removes more carbon from the atmosphere than is used in its manufacture
Warm and quiet - Cork’s natural honeycomb structure makes it extremely quiet and comfortable underfoot. Works well with underfloor heating too
Pure - Unlike other cork flooring, Corka contains no MDF or fibreboard filler
Corka is made using the bark of the cork oak, an evergreen which grows up to 20m high and lives for up to 200 years. The bark has a honeycomb cell structure, a natural fire retardant with exceptional insulating properties.
No trees are cut down during harvesting. The process requires great expertise (it is the highest paid job in Portuguese agriculture) and involves carving the bark off once every nine years. The first harvest takes place only 25 years after planting.
All of our cork comes from a 700,000-hectare forested ecosystem in southern Portugal known as the Montado, whose trees are protected by law. These forests make a significant contribution to reducing global warming, capturing an estimated 5 percent of the country’s annual CO2 emissions, or 4.8 million tons per year.
The sustainably managed cork forests support many endangered species including the Imperial eagle, wolves and the Iberian lynx, one of the most endangered cats in the world.
Our cork flooring is easy to lay and works well with underfloor heating; there’s no varnishing involved and the planks simply click together. It's your choice whether to glue down or install as a "floating floor". Many of our customers lay it themselves as a DIY project, but if you are looking for an experienced fitter, we can help – just email us your postcode.
Our standard delivery is within 5 working days and costs £25 for smaller orders and £35 for large ones. We also offer a 48-hour express service as well as international delivery. Samples are sent out by first-class post (you can have 3 for free).
If you change your mind about your order, you are welcome to return it to us within 14 days for a full refund.
